Rare Large-Sized Redware Pitcher with Incised and Impressed Decoration, possibly Jacob Medinger, Montgomery County, PA, late 19th century, finely-potted pitcher of highly-ovoid form with flared rim, pointed spout, and applied strap handle. Shoulder decorated with tooled banding and incised wavy lines, including sawtooth-patterned incising accented with scored dots. Handle with highly unusual impressed chain link decorations at the upper and lower terminals. Surface covered in a streaky lead and manganese glaze. Excellent size and form. Significant restoration to spout. Restoration to a few rim chips. H 14 1/8".
